Geneva, October 25, 2024
It is no secret to you the humanitarian consequences of the genocide being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces for more than a year. Since October 4, 2024, Israeli occupation forces have imposed a severe siege on the North Gaza Governorate, which includes Jabalia Camp and its surrounding areas, home to approximately 400,000 inhabitants who are currently subjected to killing and starvation. All humanitarian aid, including food and water, has been cut off from the camp’s residents. Hospitals have been deprived of medicine and fuel, effectively dismantling the healthcare system in North Gaza Governorate. Medical teams at Kamal Adwan Hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, and Al-Awda Hospital have been ordered to evacuate these facilities despite housing hundreds of patients. Hundreds of civilians, mostly children and women, have been killed in airstrikes and tank shelling. Ambulance crews have been prevented from transporting the injured to hospitals, leaving hundreds of martyrs’ bodies lying in the streets. All communication and internet access have also been severed from the area, according to statements from Government Media Center Director in Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, Israeli occupation has bombed densely populated residential blocks, forcing civilians to flee their homes in an outright genocide and unprecedented ethnic cleansing. During this ethnic cleansing campaign, men have been separated from women and children, and the fate of these men remains unknown.
As a result of the ongoing attacks on hospitals in the North Gaza Governorate, medical facilities are unable to provide treatment to the wounded and sick, who are facing death due to the lack of basic medical care. Currently, the occupation is besieging displaced persons in the Beit Lahia Project, cutting off all food, medicine, and water supplies to approximately 150,000 people, the majority of whom are children and women.
The reports we receive from the survivors of the North Gaza Holocaust are horrifying. Atrocities they have witnessed are indescribable. Israeli forces are exterminating civilians en masse, both collectively and individually. It is imperative to take every possible action to stop these ongoing atrocities and hold those responsible accountable.
We have received distress calls from the residents of North Gaza Governorate, particularly from Jabalia Camp and Beit Lahia Project, pleading with the global community to save them from the ongoing genocide before time runs out and thousands more, especially children, lose their lives.
For our part, we forward this urgent appeal to you for immediate action and to take measures you deem appropriate to halt these genocidal crimes, as defined by International Criminal Court.
With our utmost respect and appreciation,
