Save Dr. Hussam Abu Safia before he dies under torture in Israeli prisons.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, Palestinian, born in Jabalia in 1973, is a pediatric consultant and currently the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
He is a prominent figure in the health sector and works to lead medical teams to provide medical services to patients and the wounded at Kamal Adwan Hospital.
On November 23, 2024, Abu Safia was injured by a bomb dropped on him from an Israeli quadcopter while he was working inside the hospital, which resulted in him being hit by six shrapnel that penetrated his thigh area and caused ruptures in his veins and arteries.
On Saturday, 12/28/2024, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the Israeli occupation army arrested on Friday, 12/27/2024, Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, and dozens of medical staff members at the hospital in the North Gaza Governorate.
Medical cadres working at Kamal Adwan Hospital confirmed that the occupation forces asked Dr. Hussam Abu Safia to go to the Indonesian Hospital with his staff. After the doctor left the hospital with his staff, the occupation asked him to go to the detention center at Al-Fakhoura School, instead of going to the Indonesian Hospital with his staff.
The released detainees confirmed that Dr. Abu Safia was severely beaten with batons and sticks by the Israeli occupation forces, who forced him to take off his clothes and dress him in detainee clothes, and that the occupation used him as a human shield.
It is well known that the methods of torture in Israeli prisons, especially after October 7, 2023, are horrific and unprecedentedly terrible.
More than 55 prisoners have been killed in Israeli prisons under torture since October 7, 2023 until now, including Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh, Dr. Iyad Al-Rantisi, and Dr. Ziad Al-Dalo.
Dr. Abu Safiya’s life is currently in grave danger, and we fear his death under torture inside Israeli occupation prisons.
Trought this appeal we call upon you to intervene urgently to release Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and all his medical staff from Israeli prisons before he dies under torture.
